Nina Mingya Powles is a librarian, poet, and author from Aotearoa, New Zealand. Her first poetry collection "Magnolia" was nominated for the 2020 Forward Best First Collection Prize and was a finalist for the Royal Society of Literature's Ondaatje Prize. Her memoir on food, "Tiny Moons", was published in 2020 by The Emma Press. In 2019, she won the Nan Shepherd Prize, and her collection of essays from the award, "Small Bodies of Water", was first published in the UK in 2021.
