Timothy Morton is the Rita Shea Guffey Chair at Rice University and is also the Director of the Cool America Foundation. He has collaborated with Laurie Anderson, Björk, Jennifer Walshe, Hrafnhildur Arnadottir, Sabrina Scott, Adam McKay, Jeff Bridges, Olafur Eliasson, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Guariglia. Morton co-wrote the script for the 2018 film "Living in the Future’s Past" with Jeff Bridges and also appeared in the film. His works have been translated into 15 languages. In 2014, he gave a lecture in the field of Theory as part of the Wellek Lectures.
Some of Morton's books include "All Art Is Ecological" (Penguin, 2021), "Spacecraft" (Bloomsbury, 2021), "Hyposubjects: On Becoming Human" (Open Humanities, 2021), "Being Ecological" (Penguin, 2018), and "Humankind: Solidarity with Nonhuman People" (Verso, 2017). In addition to these, he has published eight other books on philosophy, ecology, literature, music, art, architecture, design, and food, as well as 270 articles.
